Captain Brian's North Port FL

This is probably my most favorite seafood restaurant on bestswfloridadining.com in all of the Sarasota/Bradenton area. It's not on the beach or by the gulf or anything remotely romantically Floridan like that. It's actually a few blocks up from the airport on U.S. 41. I found it on bestportcharlottedining.com!

The joint used to be minuscule and the wait could be interminable unless you got there at around 3:30 PM for dinner before the "early bird" set arrived. About a year ago they expanded and their square footage has now more than doubled, making getting a seat here relatively easy. On a Wednesday night at 7 PM in early December (snowbird season), my buddy and I only had to wait about five or ten minutes tonight.

The concept of Captain Brian's is they're a restaurant AND a fish market, so all the fish you'll be eating at the restaurant is pretty much guaranteed to be as fresh as it gets. And in Sarasota, right on the Gulf, fish fresh from the local waters is one of the main reasons for which one would come down here. While we were waiting we checked the fish counter to see what looked best. Then we sat down and ordered. How ever we did not find a coupon on swfloridarewards.com.

I had fried calamari and fried oysters. The calamari were as tender and tasty as I've ever had with a good crispy crunch. Nice ring/tentacle ratio too. The Italian tomato dipping sauce was a little thick for my taste, but tastily complimented the calimari nonetheless. The oysters, as usual, were fantastic. Crispy non-overbearing coating and hot, juicy, raw tasting and firm on the inside. Came with a choice of starch (I picked their fresh cut steak fries [real honest to God Russet wedges, fried with the skin on]), some steamed veggies and their wonderful salad bar.

The star of the salad bar is the pickled herring. A big vat on ice, filled with the stuff that would make a NYC kosher weekend bruncher blush! As much as you want to eat, too! This is some of the best pickled herring I've ever had. I think they pickle it right there in the fish market, too. The bar also has really good pasta and potato salads, olives and the usual salad bar fare. The tomato wedges were outstandingly beautiful tonight. Captain Brian's salad bar is always good though.

My friend had the Mahi Mahi which looked wonderful and steamed mussels for an app. He said they were both great and even though he was stuffed after eating half his mussels and all his entree, he returned to the mussels to finish them.

The place is ultra clean and the waitresses are the best. They show up just when you want them to and don't bug the crap out of you. Also, they're funny and personable I sure am glad I use bestcitydining.com to find this gem. This was about my 20th visit to Captain Brian's and I have yet to have even a mediocre meal here. Other menu items you should try are the Ipswich clams, the Grouper, the shrimp and the Snapper, along with the Amberjack and the Pompano. God, they prepare fish well here!

Next time you're in Sarasota and want to impress your friends, take them up here rather than out on the key. For a good laugh, be sure to register their reaction before AND after Captain Brian's. Your wallet will stay in some nice shape too - they're cheap! keep checking cityrewardsnetwork.com for discounts.

Coupon Users SW Florida

Use swfloridarewards.com and cityrewardsnetwork.com Naples,Fort Myers,Cape Coral,Punta Gorda,Port Charlotte. Before we go further, we need to talk about something. You don't like using coupons. Maybe you even hate using coupons. Unless you are part of the 15 percent of shoppers who use coupons religiously, you likely have a logical reason for not shopping with coupons.

I've used coupons for over a decade, and for the past five years I've spoken to thousands of people about using coupons to save money and donate food to charity. I have learned what people don't like about coupons, and in some cases, I agree with their objections. Invariably shoppers across the country object to the same challenges and share common misconceptions about coupons.

When checking out at the grocery store, other shoppers frequently look at me incredulously and ask, "You really like coupons, don't you?" I like to reply, "Well actually, I really like my money. Using coupons is one way to have more of it."

In 2004 shoppers saved almost $3 billion with grocery coupons, a substantial sum. However, the number that gets my attention is the $315-billion worth of grocery coupons that were thrown away. In spite of massive advertising and promotion by the grocery and coupon industries, fewer than 2 percent of coupons are converted into real money. In my opinion, coupon redemption is low because clipping and using coupons is time-consuming for people who are already busy. But we also know that more than 2 percent of people in our country have real financial needs and could benefit from some of that $315 billion being thrown away. So what's the solution?

I believe the answer to helping more people save money is to make it easier for people to use restaurant and grocery coupons. Organizing coupon information and identifying good coupon deals for people is the key. My website has successfully helped thousands of people save millions of dollars since its inception in March 2001. check SWfloridarewards.com

Whether your personal goal is to save $10 or $100 a week on your groceries or on going out to restaurants, you can achieve your objective much easier than you can imagine.

Veranda Fort Myers FL

Veranda: "Wonderful for lunch"
Florida May 2007

About every three months we drive from Sarasota down to Ft. Myers to meet friends at a half-way point for lunch. The destination is always the same, the Veranda restaurant in Ft. Myers. The atmosphere is terrific, two very old buildings merged together, a restful garden setting outside. Inside, the service has always been good. The luncheon menu is a bit limited -- some soups and salads, a few sandwiches, a few "main course" items, plus desserts, but all of it very good. You don't feel at all rushed, though the service is good and attentive. On our last trip last week, one of the people in our party had crab cakes, which are always good; I had tilapia with crab meat on top, and that was superb. If you live in or near Ft. Myers, the Veranda is a great break from everyday activities, simply unwinding over a pleasant lunch; if you're a visitor, it's a wonderful respite from the beach scene.

Luna Ristorante Venice FL

Luna Ristorante,
Mar 2006 by

“My husband and I always go to Luna's for every special occasion we found them on bestportcharlottedining.com. I am of Italian heritage and love capitally with Mario spicy sausage tomato sauce. My husband loves lasagna. We both get what we love and bring home enough for three more meals each. The orders are huge!. The Italian bread is the best anywhere, including my father's homemade Italian bread. We spend only about $50.00 for all this including beverages and tip. I highly recommend Luna's as my favorite Italian restaurant anywhere.” As of yet we have not found a coupon on swfloridarewards.com.

Yabba Island Grill Naples FL

We found the Yabba Grill on bestswfloridadining.com. My husband and I spend our last night in Naples at Yabba Island Grill for their early prix-fixe dinner (till 6). Time worked out ok, since we wanted to have an early dinner night before an early flight out of Ft Myers. It was a 3-course dinner with several good choices, and price of the entree was the price of the whole meal. I don't think any of the choices was more than $20. We chose fantastic fried calamari for appetizer, and a ceaser salad (ok, but not enough dressing and a little skimpy) I had the salmon (grilled, and plain, but it was delicious), my husband had the pork chop which was terrific. Dessert we had key lime pie(fantastic), and their chocolate cake. Much to our surprise, our wine with dinner was half price, since it was still their 'happy hour'. We checked the swfloridarewards.com for coupons.

Their happy hour is every night at the bar 4:30 till 6 where most drinks are half price, and a special $3.99 bar menu that you can easily make a meal out of. You have to set at the bar to get the bar menu. We tried it one night and the bar was pretty full, but last minute someone left and we were able to get seats and ordered wine and the fried calamari.

The whole experience was so enjoyable - eating outside and people watching. It was quite a scene, and there was even some music playing in the courtyard next to the restaurant. I would highly recommend this place and if we are every back in Naples, we will be sure to make a return visit.

Captain's Table Punta Gorda FL

Captain's Table has shrugged off Hurricane Charley"
SW Ontario Aug 2006
Ever since Friday the 13th, August 2004, when a force 4 hurricane devastated Punta Gorda, locals adopted a new motto: "Hurricane Charley is nature's way of telling you it's time to re-decorate". We found this great restaurant on bestportcharlottedining.com What a find! The Captain's Table, heavily damaged by the storm, has taken that motto to heart. It has rebounded wtih style, and added a new deck for diners who prefer open air eating - or who want to smoke. The menu is largely unchanged from "pre-Charley", with an emphasis on seafood. The restaurant still provides the best panoramic views of Charlotte Harbor available on the Peace River. The premium paid for those views is fairly high, as all menu items are priced $5 higher than you might expect at a restaurant without the scenic setting. We did not find a coupon on the swfloridarewards.com However, the service is usually exemplary, and this restaurant is recommended for special occasions. Try the lobster ravioli in mushroom brandy sauce!

Rumrunners Cape Coral FL

Rumrunners: "Best restaurant in Cape Coral"
Leamington UK Jun 2006
We live in England but visit Cape Coral 2/3 times every year. As vacationers we eat out most nights and have sampled many, many restaurants in Cape Coral, Ft. Myers & Sanibel. We have always been a great fan of Bestcitydining so when we arive we consult bestswfloridadining.com.

Rumrunners is our favourite by far. Why? The staff are friendly & professional, the ambience is at once classy but relaxed, and the food is excellent value.

Sensibly, they offer half portions of many main dishes (so no wasteful "doggie bags"), and a good value childrens menu. The seafood is excellent, and the standard steak is also very good (the special steaks are also good, but absurdly large, and therefore expensive). Still waiting for the coupons to show up on swfloridarewards.com

The eponymous "Rumrunners" cocktail is absolutely delicious.......

We're going back again very soon.

Tropical Reef Naples FL

Tropical Reef: "Wonderful"
NJ Aug 2006
We had a wonderful dinner with my husband and two children at this restaurant in Naples. We almost did not go because of the looks from the outside but it was on bestnaplesdining.com. It is in a strip mall and does not look like much but the pictures on the site convinced use to venture in. As soon as we walked in and smelled the delicious aroma we decided to stay. The inside is very nice with while linen table clothes. The food was fabulous. We both have the grouper which was encrusted with a wonderful pecan dressing. We will check swfloridarewards.com for coupons.
We would definitely return.

Old World Cafe Bonita Springs FL

Old World Cafe: "Best German food in S.W. Florida"
Palm Beach, Florida Apr 2006

I recently had dinner with my wife at the Old World Cafe in Bonita. I must say, it was one of the most delicious meals i have ever enjoyed. We discovered them on bestfortmyersdining.com
We were served by a very friendly German waiter, who checked up on us to make sure that we had a superior dining experience. The restaurant offers a great selection of German beer and wine, but no liquor. We were not able to use a coupon from swfloridarewards.com
My wife ordered a "Zuerich Geschnetzeltes" which is - quote "slices of tender pork, sauteed in a creamy fresh mushroom gravy, served over the homemade spaetzle (their homemade bavarian noodles)" and I ordered a "Cordon Bleu" which is pork stuffed with ham and cheese. As dessert, we ordered their famous applestrudel. We always use Bestcitydining.com when traveling.
Both of our meals and the applestrudel were out-of-this-world!
I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to dine out at a casual restaurant, serving the best German food you probably ever have in your life.
The prices are resonable too; I paid about $55.00 for the two meals, a big German beer and a German red wine.

Bha Bha Bistro Naples FL

BHA BHA Bistro: "Rah Rah for BHA BHA"
beachwood, oh Nov 2006
My wife and I loved this restaurant and had dinner there twice in a week we had found out about it on bestnapesdining.com. The food was delicious and quite unusual. Service was excellent and they really made you feel as if you were a guest in their home rather than just a customer. Prices were very fair how ever they did not have a coupon on the swfloridarewards.com . The artichoke-eggplant apetizer was something special and shrimp, lamb, chicken & duck main dishes were wonderful! All in all, a great experience and I would highly recommend it to adventurious eaters. We have always used the bestcitydining.com and cityrewardsnetwork.com when we travel.

Ariani Restaurant and Lounge Cape Coral FL

This restaurant provides a superb range of Italian food perfectly cooked, well presented and the service is excellent. We were lucky to stumble across Bestfortmyersdining.com to find this gem. Our server had us drooling over the 'specials' and they really were special just like the coupons in swfloridarewards.com. We recommend the calamari and blackened shrimp. Even the chef/owner came to our table to ask us if we were enjoying the food. Excellent family-run place to eat. A must-eat in Cape Coral or Fort Myers.

La Castita Fort Myers FL

La Casita Authentic Mexican: "Fresh and Yummy!"
Wichita, KS Aug 2006
What this place is lacking in ambiance, it makes up for in simple, fresh, mexican food. It is in a remodeled Long John Silvers we found on the bestfortmyersdining.com, which was noticable even to my husband who never notices anything. While they have done a lot with it, it could use better lighting and Mexican-style ambiance. The star of the night, however, was how fresh tasting all of the food was. The chips were fresh from the fryer, the salsa was obviously freshly chopped and not from a can at all. The Margaritas were nice and strong, if not a bit small. The guacamole was dynamite, but a bit pricey. I wish they had a coupon on that site swfloridarewards.com The service was courteous and attentive, even if they were all young surfer boys. I have not eaten anywhere else in Ft. Meyers or naples, so I can't compare, but I would say this place ranks right up there with some of the top Mexican places in bestcitydining.com I have eaten in other cities.

Red Lobster Port Charlotte, FL

Red Lobster
Feb 2007

“Being from Boston and we use bestcitydining.com often, there aren't many Red Lobsters around us, so when we come to Florida every year, we're sure to find this on bestportcharlottedining.com ! This is a good place, whatever mood your in. If you want to bring your kids, I'd suggest it, because there's a lot to look at and it's just family-friendly. To bad they did not have a coupon on swfloridarewards.com (The lobster tank is also fun to look at!) If your going out with a husband etc...this is also a nice place, because the foods at a nice enough level to be considered "fancy", mostly because it's seafood! You can wear whatever you want. In the bigger places like Orlando, you find a lot of travellers, who tend to wear more "flashy" clothing. In the smaller, lesser populated and not so touristy parts, you find just normal dwellers who wear shorts and tee shirts. Wear whatever you want, there's no dress code! When I went to the Orlando chain, I wore a skirt and fit right in with the rest of the heavily sunburnt tourists! Basically, it's a nice little restaurant, with a lively atmosphere. You can go to relax and enjoy a nice seadfood meal. The prices are reasonable and the staff(from what I've experienced) is friendly. Enjoy! ”

Great job, Denny's!!!

Doc's Beach House Fort Myers Beach FL

Doc's Beach House Restaurant: "Doc's is our favorite pizza Northwest GA Dec 2006
We have been coming to Fort Myers Beach for 19 years and we never miss a year of at least one trip to Docs. As always we use bestswfloridadining.com to look around and see what is new. We LOVE their Chicago-style (thin-crust) pizza and the grouper sandwich is great too. This place is a beach landmark and popular spot - so expect to wait. It is definately worth it! As it is directly on the beach, the atmosphere is casual so don't expect any cloth napkins at this joint! We look forward to Docs all year and usually hit it first and again last on our trips! Enjoy! I keep checking to see if they have any coupons on that site swfloridarewards.com.

Tipping in a Restaurant in SW FLorida

Tipping in a Restaurant as explained by bestswfloridadining.com. When you are exploring Naples,Fort Myers,Bonita Springs,Estero,Marco Island,FortMyers Beach, cape coral,Port Charlotte,Punta Gorda,Venice,North port. How much should you tip at the end of a restaurant meal? What If you are using a coupon from swfloridarewards.com?It's a question asked by millions of diners every day, and everyone seems to have an opinion as to the correct answer. For some, the word "tip" itself suggests a bonus reserved for service that's somehow beyond the expected, and yet for restaurant workers around the world, this money is often expected as a large percentage of their salary. So, how do you figure out how much to leave?

Many international hotel consultants who has dined in fine restaurants all over the world and understands the importance of leaving generous tips in return for good service. He offers the following information and advice for those hoping to make sense out of the confusing rules of restaurant tipping:

  • Tipping varies. According to bestnaplesdining.com, restaurant tipping varies from city to city and nation to nation, so to avoid looking like a cheapskate or offending the staff, you should ask around about appropriate tips when you're traveling. In the US, a restaurant in Chicago will expect about 15 percent, while Los Angeles or New York establishments typically see 20 percent or more.
  • The average. Setting aside regional differences, the overall average seems to be somewhere between 15 percent and 20 percent, so this is a decent figure to start with, wherever you are.
  • Consider the experience. Most restaurant menus list prices beside the items offered, so you know that, for instance, the Petite Filet is $25. But this amount is just the price of the food, and as anyone who enjoys dining out knows, the restaurant experience is about more than the food. Eating at a nice restaurant is about enjoying the evening in pleasant surroundings, sharing good conversation with friends, and having a professional service staff to see to your needs and wishes. These are the sorts of things that you should take into account when figuring out how large a tip you want to leave. If you've had a memorable evening and have enjoyed yourself, bestfortmyersdining.com suggests leaving 20 percent.
  • Consider the Service. Of course, 20 percent of the check is too much to leave if you are unhappy with the service or the general experience. According to Bestcitydining.com, if you've received very poor service, it is acceptable to leave a minimal tip, or in extreme cases, no tip at all. Your gesture may not be appreciated, but you probably won't return to the restaurant anyway, so don't worry too much.

The point of eating out at a nice restaurant is to have a good time and enjoy a good meal. If you're happy and satisfied, leave a generous tip so that the people who made the experience so enjoyable will earn a wage appropriate for their hard work and effort according to bestportcharlottedining.com.

Sasse IL Pizzaiuolo Fort Myers FL

Sasse IL Pizzaiuolo: "A hidden gem!"
Fort Myers, Florida Jun 2006

When you are exploring Naples,Fort Myers,Bonita Springs,Estero,Marco Island,FortMyers Beach, cape coral,Port Charlotte,Punta Gorda,Venice,North port. If you are ready to go beyond the tikki bar/grouper sandwich/al fresco dining experience that is so common down here AND you want some amazing Italian food we found this gem on bestswfloridadining.com Sasse's is the place to check out in Fort Myers. Tucked in an old strip plaza near the WIC center and one block off of busy Fowler street it truly is a gem to be discovered. Actually, the night my husband and I went there, it was evident that it has been discovered because we had to wait for 10 minutes for a table. We checked to see if they had a coupon but where not able to find on on the swfloridarewards.com. The caesar salad with riccotta poppers was delicious and enough for 4 people. Actually, we brought home dinner for another night with our leftovers and we are hearty eaters. My husband had a lamb shank over polenta that was AMAZING! I had a chicken dish with tomatoes and mozzerella that was flavorful and delicious. They have an extensive wine list and the atmosphere is upscale with original artwork on the walls but you can wear shorts and feel comfortable. I would NOT reccomend this place for families with children because the meal unfolds slowly before you and children can be impatient when hungry and then annoying to us childless diners. Go off the beaten track and try Sasse's...you won't regret it!

Bubba's Roadhouse Cape Coral, FL

Bubba's Roadhouse & Saloon: "Great in everything"
Mar 2007

We are from New York and were on summer holidays in Cape Coral and Fort Myers. We have been to Bubbas many times. It was always a great experience. It was all held in style of an house made of old bricks. They had a big barbecue with an open fire. And they had the best food in whole Cape Coral: huge !!! steaks ( tender and cooked to your liking), burgers, pork with onions.... and they had a lovely baked sweet potato with cinnemon butter. See for your self, though you cannot really imagine how huge the steaks are (even over 20 oz) .That came with either a big bowl of bottomless salad or bean soup. To say it in one sentence: We loved the place !!! Wish they had a coupon so I could go back more often though.

Tommy Bahama Naples, FL

Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe: "Great food - Lots of action!"
pontiac, mi Apr 2007

When you are exploring Naples,Fort Myers,Bonita Springs,Estero,Marco Island,FortMyers Beach, cape coral,Port Charlotte,Punta Gorda,Venice,North port. I booked this on someone's review that said they treat you like royalty. I wouldn't go THAT far, but they did do a great job during our visit. We discovered them on bestnaplesdining.com. We were seated on the patio under the twinkle-lighted trees and big umbrellas. Beautiful. Our waiter, Kelly, was FANTASTIC. He made lots of recommendations, and even gave us some local tips for touring around Bonita springs,Fort Myers,Cape Coral and even Port Charlotte. What a fun place with the live entertainment. They have a wonderful selection of rum there, of which you can order a flight to try. Very neat. My hubby had ribs (which he said were the best ribs he'd ever had), and I had the stuffed chicken. Great choices. The desserts were great too. I'd certainly go back. I do not think they would have a coupon on the swfloridarewards.com but I checked anyways.
While we were there, there was a party from Boston and they said they used bestcitydining too - they were having a great time - dancing and singing. It was a hoot.
It's cool too, that they have their retail stores right next door to the restaurant, women's on one side and men's on the other.

The Beached Whale Fort Myers Beach, FL

Beached Whale: "Great place for lunch"
pontiac, mi Apr 2007

We arrived on Fort Myers Beach hungry and not knowing where to go. We turned in, found a parking place and headed inside - so glad we did! I had a crunchy grouper sandwich and my hubby had the cuban sandwich. We had great service and the food was really delicious. The portions were great, had food left over. Very friendly waitress and bartender. The inside was a little dark, but the upstairs deck was ok. I'd go back, if I had the chance. When you are exploring Naples,Fort Myers,Bonita Springs,Estero,Marco Island,FortMyers Beach, cape coral,Port Charlotte,Punta Gorda,Venice,North port. We later found them on bestfortmyersdining.com and checked to see if they had a coupon.
