This is why I love bestswfloridadining.com!!!!!! I would NEVER in a million years have found this great little restaurant on my own. We live on the east coast of Florida and we've just recently begun taking day trips to Ft. Myers. So I check on bestcitydining each time we go....to see where to eat, what to do, etc. Before our latest trip, I saw the reviews for Farmer's Market, liked what I read, printed out the address and map and made it a point to got there for lunch. Though it's not far from Fort Myers downtown, had I not trusted bestfortmyersdining.com from previous experience I probably wouldn't have eaten there. To say it's not in the touristy part of town is an understatement. It's in an industrial area. It's not just named Farmer's Market, it's actually next to a real farmer's market. Also, the outside of the restaurant itself is not very impressive. The only tell-tale sign of what's inside is the nearly full parking lot. And once inside it looked like the typical southern, by-the-side-of-the-road kinda place. Once inside though, we were greeted warmly and promptly taken to our seats and given our menus. The prices were very reasonable and the selection of Southern fare pretty complete. I asked our waitress what she recommended in seafood and she suggested the breaded whitefish. I also had my choice of two sides. I chose collard greens and black eyed peas. The greens were good, but the fish and black eyed peas were...let's just say memorable. I also stole some of my husbands sweet potato fries and coconut cream pie....yumm. Wish I had a coupon Thank you best sw florida dining for "advising me" to go to the Farmer's Market. It was great! |
